Why Do I Feel So Tired All The Time And What Can I Do About It?

Feeling tired all the time is a common symptom of various health problems. These include sleep apnea, depression, high blood pressure, chronic kidney disease and even heart attacks. When feeling tired for brief periods of time it is often not a serious issue; however, if the fatigue persists it can be an indicator of an underlying medical condition.

One of the main causes of fatigue is an unusual sleep schedule, such as sleeping odd hours or not getting enough good quality sleep. Other causes could be health conditions such as sleep apnea, high stress levels, much light exposure at night or the use of illegal drugs. If you are feeling constantly fatigued it is important to identify potential causes so that appropriate lifestyle changes can be made. If your lifestyle involves working long hours or having a lot of stress, try to reduce your workload and practice relaxation techniques before bedtime. Additionally reducing alcohol (we do not recommend alcohol at all) consumption and limiting exposure to bright lights at night can also help improve your sleep quality and reduce feelings of tiredness during the day.
