12 Things To Know For Much Better Health P1
Written By; Timothy Thompson – trt
Part 1: Better Health This is my story; this is my wisdom on a matter that lacks much data. That being said, I have learned some precious information about health and well-being. But one has to take action and not just read the information that I am sharing. You want actual proof. The only way to experience this is to prove it to yourself. Do you want to be healthier? The best way to stop cancer or sickness is to prevent them by putting nutrition in your body so that your body can fight for you.
Much of the food we eat today lacks the nutrition that our bodies so desperately need. There are two things that cause sickness and will speed up death.
Sugar: Is sugarcane a poison?
Excess sugar is a poison. So what does excess sugar do inside our bodies?
“You are what your body does with what you eat.”
Back in 1977, the main public health concern was heart disease. Everybody wanted to know what caused it. There was a battle then between dietary fat on one side and dietary sugar on the other.
We ended up betting on the wrong horse.
We decided dietary fat was the problem, like meat, milk, and eggs (it wasn’t). So food providers removed the fats from their products, and the public removed them from their diets, leaving the food tasteless.
The food industry had to make it palatable. What did they do? They dumped in more sugar to process the food to make it taste good.
Yes, sugar makes food taste sweet, but it also makes food last longer on the shelf (it’s a preservative).
That’s great if you’re selling food, but not if you’re eating it. As we continue to consume sugar in the amounts and dosages that we consume today, sugar becomes hazardous to our health because of the way our bodies turn it into energy, and that excess sugar gets stored as fat (liver fat in particular).
We are all different in the amount of sugar that we consume. For example, there are sweeteners that people use to substitute for sugar. The issue here is that many people substitute sugar for something far worse.like a diet soda. Most people don’t realize that diet soda actually makes you hungry, and you end up gaining weight. If you truly want to be healthy, then you must stay away from soda. I believe that consuming caffeine-sugared soda or eating things that are unhealthy only fights against the good nutrition that you place in your body.
MEAT
Too much meat causes one to have high cholesterol. Now, according to my research, the body produces about 75 percent of the cholesterol you need. So in the end, you don’t need a lot of meat.
This is where people make excuses: “Oh, you need protein.” But what they don’t see is that too much of anything is not good for you. You would do well to pay attention to the label and cut way down on high-cholesterol foods.
The leading cause of death is heart disease, so cutting down on cholesterol could very well extend your life.
Now, if you’re overweight, try losing that weight and coming down to a proper weight for your height.
This will vary from person to person. For example, a man with a lot of muscle will weigh more because muscle weight is more.
Stay away from alcohol, such as beer and wine.
The study, published Thursday in the peer-reviewed medical journal The Lancet, found that alcohol, such as beer and wine, is a leading risk factor for death and disease, associated with 2.8 million deaths each year and the seventh-leading risk factor for premature death and disability globally in 2016.
There is often a lot of misleading information out there. But as a Christian, I am taught that the body is a temple and that we should treat it with respect, and yet one of the hardest things to overcome is that the body desires to indulge in our hunger in order to release our craving. This can seem overwhelming to most people. But we must overcome them or pay the consequences in less than perfect health.
Now the members of “THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATE-DAY SAINTS” have a standard that they live up to, and if you want to live a healthier life, take the advice of what I believe comes from the Lord through Joseph Smith.
But before I share what we call this high standard, the “Word of Wisdom”. Let let me mention that Mormons, that is, members of “THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER-DAY SAINTS,” live longer, healthier lives.
What is the life expectancy of a Mormon?
According to the Washington Post, Mormons live longer, with a life expectancy of over 86 years for women and 84 years for men in one long-term study, compared to life expectancies in the early 80s for women and the mid-70s for men who were not Mormons. Want to live like the Latter-day Saints? These are their lifestyle practices.
D & C SECTION 89 – THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER DAY SAINTS
Revelation given through Joseph Smith the Prophet, at Kirtland, Ohio, February 27, 1833. Because of the former brethren using tobacco in their meetings, the Prophet was led to ponder upon the matter; he inquired of the Lord concerning it. This revelation, known as the Word of Wisdom, was the result.
1 A Word of Wisdom, for the benefit of the council of high priests, assembled in Kirtland, and the church, and also the saints in Zion—
2 To be sent greeting; not by commandment or constraint, but by revelation and the word of wisdom, showing forth the order and will of God in the temporal salvation of all saints in the last days—
3 Given for a principle with promise, adapted to the capacity of the weak and the weakest of all saints, who are or can be called saints.
4 Behold, verily, thus saith the Lord unto you: In consequence of evils and designs which do and will exist in the hearts of conspiring men in the last days, I have warned you, and forewarn you, by giving unto you this word of wisdom by revelation—
5 That inasmuch as any man drinketh wine or strong drink among you, behold it is not good, neither meet in the sight of your Father, only in assembling yourselves together to offer up your sacraments before him.
6 And, behold, this should be wine, yea, pure wine of the grape of the vine, of your own make.
7 And, again, strong drinks are not for the belly, but for the washing of your bodies.
8 And again, tobacco is not for the body, neither for the belly, and is not good for man, but is an herb for bruises and all sick cattle, to be used with judgment and skill.
9 And again, hot drinks are not for the body or belly.
10 And again, verily I say unto you, all wholesome herbs God hath ordained for the constitution, nature, and use of man—
11 Every herb in the season thereof, and every fruit in the season thereof; all these to be used with prudence and thanksgiving.
12 Yea, flesh also of beasts and of the fowls of the air, I, the Lord, have ordained for the use of man with thanksgiving; nevertheless they are to be used sparingly;
13 And it is pleasing unto me that they should not be used, only in times of winter, or of cold, or famine.
14 All grain is ordained for the use of man and of beasts, to be the staff of life, not only for man but for the beasts of the field, and the fowls of heaven, and all wild animals that run or creep on the earth;
15 And these hath God made for the use of man only in times of famine and excess of hunger.
16 All grain is good for the food of man; as also the fruit of the vine; that which yieldeth fruit, whether in the ground or above the ground—
17 Nevertheless, wheat for man, and corn for the ox, and oats for the horse, and rye for the fowls and for swine, and for all beasts of the field, and barley for all useful animals, and for mild drinks, as also other grain.
18 And all saints who remember to keep and do these sayings, walking in obedience to the commandments, shall receive health in their navel and marrow to their bones;
19 And shall find wisdom and great treasures of knowledge, even hidden treasures;
20 And shall run and not be weary, and shall walk and not faint.
21 And I, the Lord, give unto them a promise, that the destroying angel shall pass by them, as the children of Israel, and not slay them. Amen.
OK – There is doing much more I wish to cover and I will. Come back to part two. Next, I will talk about overcoming stress, depression and bipolar. Just remember, exercise is a big part of living well. God Bless, I hope that this has helped. Have a great day!
